Airsoft Pistol

Discover our top selling airsoft pistols in our buyers' guide.

An airsoft pistol is a classic weapon that every airsoft player should own. We offer an extensive range of airsoft pistols, including:

Do you fancy a Desert Eagle replica or a Luger? We have the widest range in England, so you’re bound to find the right match here. If you’re worried about UKARA regulations, put them out of your mind—we can spray any model on our site.

There are options for every budget, from a cheap airsoft pistol for beginners to the best airsoft pistol on the market for professionals.

Types of Airsoft Pistols

Aside from design features, one pistol looks much like another. Automatic pistols are more popular than revolvers, but still available in various places. They’re similar, so instead of discussing the features, we’ll look at how the guns are powered.

Spring-Powered

These are the oldest types. It works on mechanical power, where you cock the gun to fire. The advantage of spring-powered models is that you don’t need gas or other consumables, and you don’t have to worry about the battery losing its charge.

The disadvantage is that you fire one bullet at a time, and the load times are slow. If you acquire a model with an excellent spring, though, this can do some serious damage.

Browse our range of spring-powered Airsoft pistols here.

Gas-Powered

If you’re looking at a pistol, a gas-powered option is a safe bet. It’s reliable, loads faster, and may offer more pressure than with spring-powered models. The downside is that the airsoft pistol’s gas runs out rapidly.

You’ll also need to change the gas regularly depending on your local climate. CO2-powered gas pistol models shoot at higher pressures than green gas ones, but the latter is more economical and better for the gun’s interior.

Electric-Powered

These are the most popular types because they are reliable, economical, and deliver decent pressure. Over the long-term, they can save you a fair amount of money in gas refills.

The downside is that your battery can run out of juice at an inopportune moment. We recommend always carrying a spare battery.

Iconic Airsoft Pistols

Our three most iconic airsoft pistols you must not miss are John Wicks Pit Viper (by a long way!), the Tokyo Marui M92F and the Glock

Brands

You’ll notice that we stock all the top brands.

The variety is mainly for the serious players who want to level up, but we also understand that not everyone wants to lay out that kind of capital. We offer a range of budget brands as well.

We vet every brand carefully before placing them on our site. It’s a difficult job having to test all those guns from different brands, but we put our customers first. If that means shooting three or thirty times as a test, we’ll stay in the field until we’re satisfied.

Our favourite brands include:

Airsoft pistol accuracy:

1. The Hop-Up: The Cornerstone of Accuracy

  • What it is: The hop-up is a small rubber or silicone nub that applies backspin to the BB as it travels down the barrel. This backspin creates lift, counteracting the BB's natural downward trajectory due to gravity.
  • Why it's crucial: A well-tuned hop-up allows the BB to fly in a straighter line for a longer distance. Without it, your shots would drop significantly, even at close range.
  • Adjustment: Most airsoft pistols have an adjustable hop-up, allowing you to fine-tune the amount of backspin applied to the BB based on the weight of the BB and the range you're shooting at.

2. Barrel Quality and Length: A Balancing Act

  • Inner Barrel Quality: The inner surface of the barrel should be smooth and consistent to minimize friction and ensure the BB travels straight. Look for barrels made from high-quality materials like brass or stainless steel.
  • Tightbore Barrels: These barrels have a smaller inner diameter, which can improve accuracy by creating a tighter seal around the BB. However, they can also be more prone to jamming if not properly maintained.
  • Barrel Length: A longer barrel can provide more time for the hop-up to impart backspin and stabilize the BB. However, the gains in accuracy diminish beyond a certain length, and a longer barrel can make the pistol less maneuverable.

3. BB Weight and Quality: Consistency is Key

  • BB Weight: Heavier BBs (0.25g or 0.28g) are less susceptible to wind drift and maintain their velocity better than lighter BBs. This results in more consistent and predictable trajectories.
  • BB Quality: Look for BBs that are perfectly spherical, smooth, and free of seams or imperfections. Inconsistent BBs can cause erratic flight paths and reduce accuracy.

4. Air Seal: The Foundation of Consistent Power

  • Maintaining Air Seal: A good air seal throughout the pistol ensures that all the compressed air is used to propel the BB, resulting in consistent FPS (feet per second) and power output.
  • Components Involved: The air seal involves the piston, piston head, cylinder head, nozzle, and bucking (the part that houses the hop-up). Any leaks in these components can affect accuracy.

5. Pistol Power (FPS): Consistency over Sheer Power

  • FPS and Accuracy: While a higher FPS can increase the range of your pistol, it doesn't directly translate to better accuracy.
  • Consistency is Key: What matters most is consistency in FPS from shot to shot. This ensures that each BB travels at a similar speed, resulting in more predictable trajectories.

6. Shooting Technique: The Human Factor

  • Stance and Grip: A stable stance and a firm grip on the pistol help minimize movement and improve accuracy.
  • Sight Alignment: Proper alignment of the front and rear sights is crucial for accurate shooting.
  • Trigger Control: Smooth and consistent trigger pull helps prevent jerking the pistol and throwing off your aim.
  • Breathing: Controlling your breathing can help steady your aim, especially when taking longer-range shots.

7. External Factors: The Uncontrollables

  • Wind: Wind can significantly affect the trajectory of BBs, especially lighter ones.
  • Rain: Rain can cause BBs to lose velocity and accuracy.
  • Temperature: Temperature changes can affect the air pressure inside the pistol and influence FPS.

By understanding and optimizing these factors, you can significantly improve the accuracy of your airsoft pistol and become a more effective shooter on the field.

The Airsoft pistol range

Most airsoft pistols can fire BBs up to around 80 feet (24 meters). Some high-powered airsoft pistols can fire BBs up to 150 feet (45 meters) or more.

Hi-capa Airsoft pistol

"Hi-capa" refers to high capacity 1911 or 2011 style pistols. These Airsoft pistols have a wider grip than standard 1911s and are able to house a high capacity "double stack" style magazine. Also, the gas reservoir is around twice as large.

Buying a cheap airsoft pistol

When buying a cheap airsoft pistol, there are several things to pay attention to. First, make sure that the pistol is made from quality materials. It should be constructed from metal or high-quality plastic. Check that the pistol has a good reputation for accuracy and range. Finally, make sure that it comes with a warranty.

Airsoft pistol with a silencer

Some airsoft pistols come with a silencer. The silencer reduces the noise level of the pistol when it's fired. It's perfect for those who want to avoid drawing attention to themselves.
